Steps 1 - 3

How to decide on your perfect site.

Step 4

Are there multiple subjects under your Topic?

Step 5

Research like your life depended on it. Because it does.

Choose a Topic that keeps you interested:

Choose a topic that you care about. The more passionate you are about a topic the more inclined you will be to continue to work on it and keep it updated.

Try Outlining, or Brainstorming a range of ideas if you are having difficulty choosing one.

Think your idea is stupid?

There are literally No Stupid Sites. There are obscure, diverse, even a few sites that one would consider a little odd and for everyone of those sites that are marketed properly - there is a following.

How to decide on your perfect site:

Outlining or Brainstorming simply means that you start off with a very broad topic and by generating a large number of ideas about this topic you work your way down its characteristics. Eventually, through the process of elimination, you will arrive at the the most singular point about that topic.

For this instance you will not be breaking the broad topic down into all of its components, only the things that you like about it.  This process will help you choose what your website will be about. As stated the most important thing about this site is that the topic is interesting to you since you will be the one maintaining it.

There is no limit to what your site can be about. Take a minute to do a search on the most ridiculous things you can think about and see what sites others have created, just to prove to yourself that there are truly websites about everything out there.

Cost: $0.00

Step 1

Start out with 2 to 3 of your favorite topics. Choose things you would normally discuss with your friends or a personal hobby that you truly enjoy:

    A. Comic Books

    B. Cooking

    C. Movies

Step 2

Break those topics down into more specific areas of interest.

    A. Comic Books

            a. New Storylines

            b. Old Storylines

            c. Comics that are Video Games Now

     B. Cooking

            a. French Menu

            b. Spanish Menu

            c. Caribbean Menu

     C. Movies

            a. Low Budget Films

            b. Old B - Movies

            c. Huge Hollywood Premiers

            d. YouTube

Step 3

As you narrow your topics, try to think of the areas that you feel most comfortable doing a lot of research on and talking about constantly. Begin to eliminate the things that you are not really interested in talking about in length. Try to notice if some of the topics overlap and start narrowing your list your list.

    A. Comic Books

            a. New Storylines

            b. Old Storylines

                    1. Classic Conflict: Good vs. Evil

            c. Comics that are Video Games Now

                    1. Several Comics; Batman, Superman, Hulk...

                    2. Games that became Comics

     B. Cooking

            a. French Menu

            b. Spanish Menu

            c. Caribbean Menu

     C. Movies

            a. Low Budget Films

            b. Old B - Movies

            c. Huge Hollywood Premiers

                    1. Multi-Million Dollar Movies

                    2. Trilogies

                    3. Action Movies

            d. YouTube

                    1. Impact on Amatures in Movies

                    2. YouTube Movie Parodies

Notice that some of your topics do overlap. This means that you can attract more visitors with the same information. This will be important when it comes to your marketing.

Note: Your Outlining or Brainstorming will probably take more than 2 sub-sections. Take your time. Choose the wrong topic and you will lose interest quickly and the rest of the site will suffer.

From this you can begin to assimilate your unique page topic.

- Multi-Million Dollar Budgeted - Comic Book Based -

- Hollywood Action Movies -

&

Funny YouTube Parodies !

Sounds a little long winded now, but you can shorten it up. Give it a day or two to process in your mind. Lets start working on your actual site.

Step 4 (optional)

Once you have chosen a topic for your site, you may need to break up that category further into topics of conversation.

- Multi-Million Dollar Budgeted - Comic Book Based -

- Hollywood Action Movies &Funny YouTube Parodies !

Creation:

    - Designing a plot

    - Writing the script

    - Choosing a cast

    - Choosing a budget

Design:

    - Funny Costumes

    - Funny Songs

    - Best pictures to make parodies of

Step number 5 may help you create some additional discussion topics.  You will begin to notice a trend the more you research. You can find the idea that no one else is discussing, or find something new that everyone is talking about. Either way, do something different.

Step 5

Research like your life depended on it. Because it does.

The reason that people will visit your site initially is because it "reaches an itch." It satisfies an immediate need for information that they plug in during a search. With the proper marketing and a few hints on getting listed properly, this will drive a few people your way (not clients, just people. Clients come later on).

The way to get return visitors (which become clients) is to have content that is relevant, new, and inspiring. This is also one of the primary reasons that it is Truly Imperative that you Choose a Topic that You are Passionate About. If you get tired of updating your site with better, more current, more relevant information, you may get a few one time customers but you will never develop a visitor's base. Not having a base severely limits your future income potential.

There are a few stable sites that clients go to when they want to make a general purchase, but there are also those sites that clients go to when they are looking for something special. Make yours meet the needs of both with the right Content.

Please take a moment to let us know your opinion of our site.

 Example:

Oprah's Book Club -

Let's say that this month, Oprah is reading The LiquidSalesman, by Errol Chung. If someone wanted Oprah's opinion of the book then they would go to her site and read it.

Then again, if that person wanted a "regular" persons take on the same book, they may do a simple search and find your site  with a review of this book and this link from Amazon.com's affiliate program.

Now that person will know that not only their idol loves it, but not only that, regular folks like YOU like it to. It lets them know that the book may actually be worth reading instead of them just buying it and placing it on a shelf.
